James Cameron has done it again. Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment in the groundbreaking sci-fi franchise, opened to a massive $412 million worldwide, exceeding even the most optimistic projections from industry analysts.
The film introduces audiences to the Ash People, a volcanic civilization living within Pandora's calderas, and has been praised for pushing the boundaries of visual effects once again. Critics have called it "the most visually ambitious film ever made" and "a masterclass in world-building."
Cameron, speaking at the premiere, said: "Every film in this series is about pushing what's possible. Fire and Ash represents five years of technological innovation, and I couldn't be prouder of what this team has achieved."
The film currently holds an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.2 average on myReel, with particular praise for Zoe Saldana's emotionally raw performance as Neytiri.
