In “James Bond Surprise: Robert Pattinson Screen Tested to Play 007,” The Hollywood Reporter reports an in-talks casting: Robert Pattinson is in talks to play James Bond / 007 in James Bond.
Project: James Bond
Role: James Bond / 007
Talent: Robert Pattinson
Casting: In talks
The Hollywood Reporter's report reads as a casting rumor. Robert Pattinson is the talent named for James Bond / 007 in James Bond, with the status listed as in talks. Also named: Denis Villeneuve. Related titles mentioned: Batman, Dune.
High-profile actor + iconic franchise role creates strong fancasting discussion potential. However, the news is framed as a rumor/screen test rather than confirmed casting, and the summary contains confusing details (Denis Villeneuve directing Bond AND Dune simultaneously seems unlikely). Still, 'Who should be the next Bond?' is evergreen fancasting content with passionate fanbase.
James Bond (franchise) — 007 role being screen tested. Batman (franchise) — Robert Pattinson currently juggling this franchise. Dune (movie) — Upcoming third Dune movie directed by Denis Villeneuve.
